The new factory!

I’ve been thinking about it for a while. Lack of space was the main reason. And then to be able to have coffee with someone and why not closer to the town…
A chat with a friend and it was set within a couple of weeks. I’m still not used to the thought of leaving my dearest little studio but let’s face it, I am getting bigger, older whatever you want to call it and so are my pieces… Time for a change! Here my own private Mr Handyman Affe freshens up the ceiling…

More pics when we’re set!

Boobies!

The “En Dag för Livet” show at Färgfabriken/Stockholm on Sept. 27 th was a success!
So far 51 000 sek donated to Bröstcancerfonden and the exhibition lives on through Anneli Lundkvist’s blog. She is the woman behind it all, the one that got breastcancer and recovered from it. The woman who was so well taken care of that she wants the opportunity to be given to all  7000 women in Sweden who get this terrible disease each year.

50 artists, tv personalities and others participated. A couple of pics from the opening night… among them Lisa Rinnevuo, Johanna Forsberg, Nadia Lousseief, Saga-Mariah Sandberg and little me… Enjoy!

“Som Eljest” a photo exhibit.

This spring I was asked to participate in a photo project. Maria Fäldt, photographer from Piteå was working on portraiting profiles from our hometown. People who are creative in various ways. Among them a sculptor, a “flower decorator”, a choir conductor, a musical artist, a movie director, and a magician only to name a few. Fifteen people who are more or less famous and all living in Piteå. Fifteen unique and different portraits.

Usually I’m not so fond of showing pics of me, but… can you guess which one is mine?

The exhibit ” Som Eljest” can be seen Aug.1st to Aug. 22nd in Piteå KONSTHALL.

Pourville & Paris

After three weeks of NO activity what so ever on the blog I’m back… I thought I’d write but you know how it is. My/our vacations back home in France tend to be crazy in many different kind of ways…

First, a trip to Pourville Sur Mer, on Billy Jean’s beat, to my lovely cousin’s wedding, Congrats again Juliette & Selim! Then back to Paris staying at my brother’s place in nice 18ième. 6th floor BUT view on “les toits de Paris” worth it… And at last my dad’s house for the lazy days. Couldn’t have been better… Bises!

Götet Centralstationen Part II

Sorry for not getting this out until now! I just got the pictures shot by my lil’ sis, since I couldn’t be there.

Anyway, I think it looks great and I got many comments from people (thank you by the way for taking the time to write it to me!) that the pictures lighten up and colour Gothenburgs trainstation…

So, you have approx. ten more days to enjoy it… Many thanks to Linda F. at Fredag Kommunikation who made it happen!

Finally! Page 128.

I didn’t know it took nearly two month to get stuff sent from Australia… But anyway, here it is. CURVY’s 100 of the World’s Best Female Artists. Now I can relaxe, I’m in… Oddly, I’m most relieved about the fact that they got my last name right. Which has always been an issue for many people… I have my list of funny names that the Mendi family got throughout the years, I’ll share it with you some day…

Ain’t it nice? p.128…

Norrland yesterday

I find it hard to shoot nature although I see grafic shapes everywhere… Yesterday was filled with this typical northern light that we have here in Norrland. As usual I had my camera in my bag (you never know right?) Maybe it is a reminder that we live in a beautiful place… especially when my soul and body are aching for heat, colors and the energy of a big city.

By the way, a great landscape photografer (both urban and nature) is Yann Arthus-Bertrand. My mum gave me a book of his work a couple years ago. I should look at it more often… http://www.yannarthusbertrand.org/
